Learn to rollerblade in the city parks! Unlike ice skating, rollerblading involves varied terrain and obstacles. Simply learning to stand up and go won’t get you very far. In our lessons you will start on a smooth, flat surface. But once you’ve learned the basics we’ll explore the parks where you’ll learn how to go up hills, down hills, turn, and stop in a variety of scenarios all towards the goal of becoming a better, safer skater.
Group Lessons
My staff and I teach group lessons to all ages, ability levels, and skating styles. With a skater to coach ratio of 5:1 you will get plenty of individual attention!
Rollerblading groups run from late March through the end of May and from early September to mid November. See the appropriate Spring Schedule or Fall Schedule for available days and times. You can also set up your own group at a day and time that is convenient for you.
Group classes meet in Central Park at E. 79th St., Central Park at 72 St., Riverside Park at W. 76 St., or Carl Schurz Park at E. 84th St. Other meeting places can be arranged.
Roller Hockey
The end of winter does not mean the end of hockey. Roller hockey is a great way to keep your skills sharp outside in the park. The roller hockey leagues (instructional, competitive) are open to children 6-18 years old. Teams are divided such that players compete against those at their same age and ability level. Learn to play hockey groups can be set up at any time and can meet in a location convenient to you. Email us to set up a learn to play group.
Individual Private Lessons
Individual private rollerblading and roller hockey lessons are available outside of the group lesson times by special arrangement. Email me to request a private lesson.

Group Lessons (8 or more skaters)
8 week session of one hour lessons - $480
Except by special arrangement group students will be required to commit to a full 8 week session.
Smaller groups (6 - 7 skaters) may be formed by special arrangement. For fewer than 6 skaters, see Semi-Private
